1. Government should not prevent people from reading, writing or
   publishing or broadcasting whatever they want, whether it's political
   or sexual, savoury or unsavoury.

2. Government should not favour or interfer in whatever peaceful method
   worship people choose (no matter how strange).

3. Government should not restrain people from ingesting whatever
   substance they choose for medical use or personal pleasure.

4. Government should not prevent adults from buying and selling sexual
   favours or engaging in any other voluntary sexual behavior.

5. Government should not prevent people from defending themselves with
   their own chosen method (i.e. buying their own guns or paying dues to
   communist organizations) so long as they don't engage in aggression
   against other innocents.

ECONOMIC LIBERTIES TEST

1. Government should not force people to pay for programs they don't
   want to pay for.  Taxation should be eliminated.  Government should
   act like an honest business: charging only their willing customers
   for services rendered.

2. Government should not interfer in the private, peaceful market
   transactions between consenting adults.  This means most government
   regulation and intervention in business should be eliminated.

3. Government should not favor any form of organization over any other.
   Small companies should not be forced to merge and large companies
   should not be prevented from growing.  The best size and type of firm
   is whatever succeeds in open competition.

4. Government should not interfer in the movement of goods and people
   across borders.  People should be allowed to live wherever they can
   afford to.  We should immediately (and unilaterally if necessary)
   declare our country open to free trade with all the other people in
   the world.

5. Government should never take honestly earned income from Peter to pay
   Paul against Peter's wishes.  This is true even if Paul is starving
   and even if a large majority voted democratically to do so.  Rather,
   redistribution should be voluntary.
