Canadian Libertarian Discussion List Can-Liberty is an open, unmoderated discussion list intended as a forum for discussion of libertarian ideas and activities. The list is expected to feature: discussion and debate on libertarian ideas and philosophy, individual liberty, free markets, and related issues; announcements from libertarian organizations and political parties; discussion of current events from a libertarian perspective; and to provide a forum for Canadians (and others) interested in liberty to meet and exchange ideas. While the list is expected to be of interest mainly to Canadians, membership is by no means limited to Canadians. As political discussions in particular can often become extremely heated, participants are asked to conduct themselves in a civil manner. Repeated flames, personal abuse, and streams of profanity are not going to win you any friends, nor will they convince others of the superiority of your ideas. [This list was known in the past as "VILA"; it was renamed Can-Liberty in September 1997 to reflect the evolution of the list into a general Canadian libertarian discussion list]. Using Can-Liberty
To post a message to all the list members, send email to can-liberty@lists.spinnaker.com. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Can-Liberty
Subscribe to Can-Liberty by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
